My wife Cary and I count ourselves lucky to raise our family here in Glenside.  We met nearly 18 years ago during our freshman orientation at The Catholic University of America.  We now have two wonderful daughters who are thriving at Copper Beech Elementary School.  I earned my law degree at night from Temple University, and before entering private practice, I clerked for a federal judge for two years.

I came to Abington in 2004 to work on Josh Shapiro’s first campaign for State Representative and then served as his chief of staff. Working for Josh was a fantastic opportunity, but the best part was getting to know Abington so well.  I had never seen neighborhoods as strong as Abington’s and residents as supportive as the ones I found here.

Abington is a great place, and as Commissioner, I will work tirelessly to make our Township even better by:

  • Innovating Abington's economic development strategy to keep our business districts strong and vibrant.

  • Investing in our parks to create greener, more engaging spaces for our children to play.

  • Enhancing traffic-calming measures - our local roads are not highways.

I am so honored to serve as your Commissioner.  Please let me know how I can help you.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Matt
