Glenside rallies around the Stack Family

On New Years Day, while most of us were still celebrating, the Stack family from Glenside Gardens was escaping a fire at their home. Fortunately, no one was hurt but the house sustained substantial damage. In true Glenside fashion, the neighbors immediately rallied around the Stack family. Together we have raised nearly $4,000 to help the Stacks get through this difficult time. I have kept in contact with the Stacks, and I am happy to report that they are doing well, and they are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

I also want to thank the brave men and women of the Abington Fire Department who left their families on New Years Day and quickly got the fire under control. Our fire fighters have been working over time since the holidays. In the last two weeks, the Department has logged twice as many hours than they typically would over the same period, and have done so without injury. We owe these volunteers a great deal of gratitude for all they do to keep us safe especially during this busy time.
